About the Workshop:

This beginner’s workshop will delve into a buffet of tiny experimental programs that require little to no coding experience, such as Flickgame, Sok Worlds, and Bitsy. Participants will design small, zine-like games that can be shared with others, develop an appreciation for the indie “art tool” scene, and learn to embrace happy accidents in the game-making process.

About the Facilitator:

Sagan Yee (they/them) is a media artist and organizer based in Toronto. Their creative practice includes animation, speculative fiction, screen-based digital games, playful experiences, and alternative controller collaborations. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Executive Director of Hand Eye Society, a non-profit video game arts organization. They are currently working on a video game about city life and gentrification, inspired by the work of NFB animator Richard Condie.
